Further to a previous discussion on religious belief due to fear here is an interesting video about fear mongering done in the name of religious faith:
Note in this case, it isn’t even sin that condemns the poor sap, just plain ignorance.
Scary, but not for the reasons the video blatantly suggests.

Holy moses, and I got your link on my blogg? Who has got time for 8 Minutes of fantasy. Those who have been to hell know what it is like. It sucks. Weeping a Gnashing of teeth is heaven. Hell is when you don’t like anything not even life, you want to die but cant ,its real shitty. The guy who wrote this 8 minute video has never been to hell. But is on his way. Fantasy will always end up in a pile of reality.
Some observations on a Letter from Hell:
#1 – The early part of the letter was written in the past tense while latter part of the letter was written in the present tense. Apparently the author, Josh, was jotting everything down while it was happening in real-time. This is quite a feat considering he had two angels bodily carrying him out of his cage. Also, it was a good thing Josh had enough presence of mind to send out the letter before getting thrown into the pit.
#2 – Angels have footsteps. The age-old question of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin will need to be reconsidered.
#3 – This letter has to be real, so as to prove that hell is real. Somewhere out there is a guy named Zack must be holding a letter from hell from a guy named Josh. Because, goodness knows, if the letter was only symbolic, it would imply that hell is symbolic.
#4 – Josh has made it clear that since he has a heartbeat and can feel pain, he has a physical body in the afterlife. From here we can extrapolate:
a. The temperature of hell – a bodily temperature of 104F and up is fatal to the human body. Since the objective of hell is to punish and torture, not to kill, the temperature of hell must be 103C, or somewhat lower (On the other hand, a student makes the following argument based on Boyle’s Law: http://www.iusb.edu/~physclub/Humor/hell.html).
104F temperature is not pleasant, but is certainly cooler than heaven, which is 977°F (see http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/hell.htm).
b. You will be provided food and water in hell – As Josh specifically stated he has a heartbeat and is therefore alive, and the purpose of hell is to punish and not kill, the wardens of hell must provide a means for its detainees to survive more than a couple of days in those conditions. Of course, the quality of the food would be at most that of airline cuisine.
I don’t want to belabor the point, but seeing as hell is supposedly the domicile of Satan, the grand liar–it is reasonable to expect that anything that supposedly comes from such a place is also a lie, therefore highly suspect.
Whereas, a letter from Heaven, from an ideological standpoint, would be believable at face value (or even at faith value).
Of course the big joke is on the author (as in the living author who wrote this farce)–who may end up in hell himself for lying.
But, golly gee, Doc, he MUST have good reasons for making this, right? I mean, he is basically scaring people into salvation, isn’t he? So even if he’s penning them in like frightened sheep, it’s OK to lie as long as he’s making converts and keeping folks from the Lake of Fire? Right?
Taken another way, this could be the “Revelation according to Josh”. Assuming for the sake of argument that biblical prophecies and stories that have “gnashing of teeth” are to be taken literally, this could be just the modern equivalent.
Maybe the message is not as easily portable to the internet medium as many would like. (Or are people just more critical nowadays?)
My take: Messages like these are meant to be taken literally or they have no power. The author was aiming for a visceral experience. So he can’t have it both ways. He can’t say this is a metaphor for a hellish experience and then turn around and say hell is real. What does that prove? That hell is a metaphor?

well, basic to the Qur’an says that when the dead come into you, you’ll see many things life.. or other words mean that the way in the next life will be showed for you. maybe the guy on that film give information for us what he get the way for his next life.
but he’s not yet there.
Jesus?
why he ask about jesus?
its natural things why he ask,
‘coz when he life, he just know about his friend religion. or maybe aim at christian people?
But there’s my question about jesus is saviour when he came to the spirit (died). i heard many christian says that when some one dead, jesus will come to you, and jesus will give mercy, blessing, etc.
heres my answ too
As long as we know who is Jesus..
don’t you?
He is one the biggest personal of the universe.
He’s the messenger of us.
but i’m worried about her friend, from the letter we saw he stated that he believe in jesus,
the question he ask:
“why you didn’t told me about jesus”
its continue..
who is jesus?
the quest is not “why u didn’t told me about ‘jesus is god’”
i guess it’s more than information about hell. but who is jesus too.
for all christian people.
if all christian meet jesus there, what will jesus tell to all of ‘em, it must be:
“I never know U, away from me, you evildoers!”
all christian know this part,
coz many will say o that day to jesus “Lord, Lord, did we not prhopesy in your name, ‘n in your name drive out demonds ‘n perform many miracles?”
wake up all christian!!
don’t be blind !
Um….yeah.
I think that most of you missed the point of this video. What part of DRAMATIC PRESENTATION don’t you understand? It proposed a factious account of “what if?” The video’s purpose isn’t to prove that there is a Hell, or the conditions, or what it will be like exactly…
Attacking the author’s use of past and present tense, accusing him of lying (which he clearing stated this is a dramatic presentation, so I don’t see why this is even an issue) and trying to scare people or convert people is just far-fetched. He’s trying to remind Christians that they should spread the word of God, even with their non-Christian friends.
It is very obvious that many of you don’t believe in God and will have something negative to say about my comments (granted, this response is much later than any of yours). I, however, believe in God and would much rather live a good life and assume any consequences in the after-life are of my own doing than to live life thinking there are no consequences and find out I’m wrong.
Did you mean ‘factious’ or ‘facetious’? I think you meant the latter.
In any case, you’re making a great assumption of your own:
Which I won’t dignify.
Whatever morality we aim to practice, it’s hardly a joking matter–or the subject of “dramatic presentation”.
And you think you’re the only person here who does so? I totally agree with you about living a good (and virtuous life I might add) but without having to cop-out and excuse pathetic attempts to fear monger like these.
I think videos like these only convince more people against theism and Christianity than its intended effect.
